We are an innovative company based in Milan, Italy, founded by sustainability professionals and tech enthusiasts determined to catalyze new technologies for sustainable impact.
Alessandra, Audrey, and Yetoe come together to co-found Uyolo as an innovative startup in Milan. We win the startup competition OPENF@B by BNP Paribas. We also obtain the Seal of Excellence by EU program Horizon 2020 and participate as finalists to the Digital For Non Profit competition by Search On Media Group.
We launch the Uyolo App and our journey truly begins. It will be challenging. Covid-19 is about to break out and the world as we know it will change. But this will not deter us. Rather, it will prove to us that we need a solution to bring us together towards a better future.
Our application to Smart & Start, a program by Invitalia, Italy’s national Agency for inward investment and economic development, is accepted. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we begin an acceleration program and redesign the Uyolo App with a renewed focus on sustainability.
We are now ready to re-launch Uyolo App in its new and improved version, including our new business platform. While philanthropy remains essential, Uyolo 2.0 signifies a shift toward strategic, value-driven sustainability solutions, a commitment to aligning business strategies with societal needs.
Uyolo is the Xhosa word for happiness. And to us, happiness is intertwined with sustainability, it is a world where nature and all peoples thrive.
That’s why we’re on a mission to accelerate businesses on their sustainability journey, amplify the impact of nonprofits, and empower individual changemakers to make a tangible difference in their communities and beyond.
